I also am a Catholic who is learning to knit. Presently I am working on a many-colored afghan called "Harmonious Stripes" using Vanna's Choice.
So far it is coming along very well and I will try and post a photo on my blog(come and visit) when I get half way.
I also have a few sweaters in hibernation. LOL

Whenever I try to knit I always try to choose a pattern which is either circular knitting or which needs no sewing. I would just adore making a blanket like you have here..one can never get bored with the many motifs...BUT the sewing scares me.
I tried it once and it ruined months of lovely, careful knitting. I just can't get the sewing thing together so it looks neat.
Anyway....I am adding a link here on my blog for others who would be interested in a Catholic Knitter blog.

Aloha Teresa! Thanks for stopping by and commenting. Thank you so much for the link.
As for the sewing, I am debating sewing or crocheting it together. My sewing leaves a lot to be desired too.
